Gillingham - Case Study
This type of flagstone restoration is by far the most common example of what we do.
Once the room has be cleared of all fixtures and fittings, including all walls and surfaces, we seal up all cupboards, units and doors to minimise the final cleaning process.
The original pointing is removed from the joints before being replaced with a new, lime-based “Somerset” pointing mix, ensuring maximum breathability to the floor as a whole.
Using dustless technology, we then remove ingrained dirt and contaminates that have built up over the years (and sometimes centuries!).
A wet process is then introduced to provide a deep clean, opening the pours of the stones.
The flagstones are then impregnated with nourishing oils before a misting of natural beeswax is applied to finish.
All cupboards, units and doors are unsealed for the final clean before the newly restored flagstone floor is handed back to the client.
